2020 Staff Directors

 

Emily Cancel is the Event Director for the 2020 Easter Passion Play.  Emily is a masters student at Andrews University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  She enjoys running backstage operations of theatre productions in her spare time.  Since her freshman year of high school, she has done thirteen full length theatrical productions from Street Scene to The Importance of Being Earnest.  This is her first time being involved in the Easter Passion Play, and she is excited to use her talents for the glorification of God in a portrayal of Jesus' life.  Emily lives in Berrien Springs with her husband, Erik and their pets.

Katherine Clayton is the Assistant Director for the 2020 Easter Passion Play.  Katherine is a freshman at Andrews University doing her undergrad in Anthropological Archaeology.  During her elementary and high school years, she took part in several large productions, including a production of Hello Dolly!  where she was the backstage manager.  Katherine is passionate about using her talents to bring people closer to God and to share His love.  She's excited to have a part in bringing the Passion Play back to life this coming spring.

Katharina Burghardt is the Drama Director for the 2020 Easter Passion Play.  Katharina is a senior studying Music Education.  She has been at Andrews since 2014 and has enjoyed every minute of her experience.  Since her freshman year, Katharina has been involved in musicals put on by Andrews University Theatre Wing under the direction of Stephen Batchelor and operas produced by the Andrews University Music Department under the direction of Charles Reid.  Additionally, Katharina enjoys putting her singing and acting talents to use for Christ as she joins the Easter Passion Play leadership team.  Katharina is looking forward to all the wonderful blessings God will bring to this year's Easter Passion Play.

Ruth Burn is the Assistant Drama Director for the 2020 Easter Passion Play.  Ruth is a Religion and English major at Andrews University who loved communicating the gospel through stories.  She spent several years volunteering in the Jerusalem Marketplace scene during her childhood, and she is excited to be a part of bringing the Passion Play experience back to Andrews University and the surrounding community this year.

Pastor Ron Whitehead is the Executive Producer of the Easter Passion Play.  Ron has served as a local pastor, conference youth, and church ministries director. He also served the NAD as associate youth director and led five International Pathfinder Camporees representing over 100,000 people.

He currently serves Kingdom-building efforts in the following ways: Director for the Center for Youth Evangelism, Assistant Professor for Youth Ministry, and Lake Union Conference Youth Ministries Director.
